Student Development Courses at ACC

Library material is purchased for all ACC Campus Libraries to help support Austin Community College students' assignments and success in the following courses:

Student Development courses are designed to provide students with the skills to maximize their success both in and out of the classroom. Student Development courses include:

  • Transition to College Success (SDEV 0111)
  • Effective Learning: Strategies for College Success (EDUC 1100, EDUC 1200, and EDUC 1300 )
    • ​Effective Learning Strategies for Health Sciences Students 
  • Career Exploration/Planning (POFT 1300)
  • College to Career Success (POFT 1171)
  • Student Success for Health Professionals (HPRS 1171)​

Student Development Apps

Apps (little software applications) allow you to customize your tablet to do the things you like to do. Some of the apps listed are free, while others are fee-based. Additionally, some apps are initially free, and then require in-app purchases if more features and functionality are desired. Listed, you will find some app recommendations we have come up with through trial, error, and our own experiences.

Dropbox-A place for photos, documents, videos, and other files. Files you keep in Dropbox are safely backed up and you can get to them from all your devices. (iOS/Android)

Flashcards-Allows you to create rich text formatted flashcards with pictures and download millions of flashcards on hundreds of subjects created by both experts and novices. (iOS)
