Custom Google Health Search

Finding information about health topics like cancer, obesity, diabetes, nutrition, etc. is easy. Finding reliable information, however, is more difficult. You can avoid a lot of the garbage that's out there by using this Google custom search engine, which only searches reputable sites like the National Library of Medicine and other organziations litsed below.

You can also explore each site yourself by clicking on one of the links below:

Centers for Disease Control              National Institutes of Health
HealthFinder National Library of Medicine
Mayo Clinic PDRhealth
MedlinePlus Womenshealth.gov

For sites of special interest to your profession, mouseover the tab for Finding Web Sites above.

MedNar Deep Web Search

MedNar is a federated search that covers the "deep web" of medical information, find more in-depth information than you might find with the typical website. It searches commercial sites as well as government sites, and allows for limiting results by type. MedNar also suggests medical subject headings (MeSH) for searches, as well a medical dicitonary. A good place to look when you need to do an in-depth search:
