Why Use E-Books?

Good question. You may be thinking that you don't have time to read an entire book for this assignment.

But sometimes a well-chosen book chapter can fulfill the same role in your research as a short article.

Some examples:

  • a book of interviews with a film director may have a key chapter focusing on her background or on production of the film you want to study.
  • a book about New Korean Cinema may have an introductory chapter that sets up history and context you need to know
  • a history of Italian film might have a great chapter on the neorealist filmmakers like Visconti and De Sica.
  • a book of essays about African cinema might have a chapter on Djibril Diop Mambéty and his film, Touki-Bouki.

Don't just think about the book as a whole, but what you might find inside them.
