Contactless Pickup Service - Frequently Asked Questions
Who’s eligible to use the Contactless Pickup service?
The service is available to all ACC students currently taking classes, faculty, and staff who possess a current ACCeID.
I am not a currently enrolled student or active employee, but may I use my TexShare card for this service?
No, the Contactless Pickup service is only available to ACC students currently taking classes, faculty, and staff.
Where can I obtain an ACC ID Card?
Information on ACC ID cards can be found here.
What items are available for pickup with this service?
Items available via Contactless Pickup include printed circulating books, DVDs, and calculators.
It is not possible/convenient for me to travel to the listed campus to pick up the requested item(s). Can you send it to another campus for pickup?
At this time, this service does not include delivery to other campuses. However, if you have an urgent need for an item, we can direct your request to a Head Librarian to determine if a special arrangement can be made.
Can I check out textbooks as part of this service?
No, items in our Reserve and Textbook Collections are not available at this time.
After I check out my items, how long may I keep them?
How will I request items?
Use the Library Catalog Search box to search for your items
On the results screen, choose “Request this copy” for the items you want
Click on the copy you want to request for pickup
Enter your ACCeID and password information into the form
Click the “Request Item” button
How quickly can I pick up my items?
This process is not immediate or same-day. It may take 3-5 business days from the time you request the materials until your appointment time to pickup the materials.
How will I know when my items are available for pickup?
After you place a hold for your requested items - check your email - you’ll receive a confirmation email message with instructions for how to schedule your pickup within 2 business days. You will then schedule an appointment to pick up your requested item(s).
Where will I go to retrieve my requested items?
In the notification email you’ll receive once your items are ready for pickup, you’ll see information about directions to the campus where this item is available.
Do I need to do anything before I go to campus to pickup my items?
Yes, to gain access to any ACC campus you’ll need to adhere to all current ACC Health & Safety Protocols including completing the ACC Health Screening App and showing your ACC ID badge or card. See the ACC Health & Safety Protocols page for additional information and requirements.
Will my requested items be available anytime?
Pickup hours for this service are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., by appointment only. All items must be retrieved within 30 minutes of your scheduled pickup time.
What happens if I can’t pickup my items during my scheduled time?
You’ll be contacted by email and provided with another appointment time.
What precautions is Library Services taking to ensure this service is safe?
We follow all ACC Health & Safety Protocols, and all pickups are contactless and socially distanced. Plus, your items will be securely placed in a bag.
Where can I return my checked out items after I’m done using them?
Items can be returned to the outside book drop located at any campus (with the exception of the Rio Grande Campus).
While I’m on campus, may I study or use a computer in the library?
Not at this time. All ACC Libraries remain closed to patrons at this time.
Can I have someone else pick up my materials?
Only the individual who requested the item for pick up may pick up materials at the appointment time.
