Professional Competencies

"By embedding these professional competencies within the digital fluency framework, students will acquire the digital skills necessary for a competitive global marketplace and a holistic understanding of how to ascertain complex problems from different perspectives to reach nuanced solutions. Thus, the digital fluency QEP will help ACC students gain core critical thinking competencies that will help them successfully gain essential outcomes of an education at ACC and in their later academic pursuits, while also improving their marketability and success when they enter the workforce."   • Creative Thinking: Synthesize existing ideas, images, or expertise in original ways to develop innovative concepts utilizing digital media.
  • Critical Thinking: Explore issues, ideas, artifacts, or events in depth before formulating a conclusion utilizing digital media.
  • Ethical Reasoning: Interpret the ramifications of alternative actions in ethical settings with digital media.
  • Integrative Learning: Synthesize and transfer ideas and experiences to new, complex situations utilizing varying software.
  • Oral Communication: Create an oral presentation designed to increase knowledge, to foster understanding, or to promote change in the listeners' attitudes, values, beliefs, or behaviors utilizing digital media.
  • Problem Solving: Design, evaluate, and implement a strategy to achieve the desired goal utilizing digital media.
  • Teamwork: Demonstrate the ability to interact and contribute to team tasks utilizing digital media.
  • Written Communication: Develop and express ideas using digital media by combining different writing technologies, and mixing texts, data, and images.
