This study has made several contributions by employing systems theory and thinking in analysing issues related to higher education. Industry 4.0 is reshaping the future of education, which opens up our vision and makes us to consider what knowledge and skills students should possess after they have graduated from college, when to accelerate workforce reskilling and what is the building blocks and connections of education supply chain.

Reports on a proposed system helps students develop titration skills using the actual apparatus. In the virtual reality environment, however, students use ordinary water instead of chemicals. The proposed virtual reality chemistry laboratory system comprises two units—the administrator module for teachers to configure the experiment with appropriate molarity associated with a solution and the simulator module for students to perform the volumetric analysis. The simulator module avatar-shell comprises a high sensitive weight sensor, which communicates with the administrator module and verifies the correctness during every instance of titration, avatar-shell can connect to the administrator module via the internet, and teachers can monitor the experiment through a mobile-based application.

This paper shares a technology enhanced, interactive and student centric approach to teaching mathematics and informatics in higher education institutions. The authors’ goal is to develop an active-engagement student-centered environment instead of the traditional instructor-centered environment.

This article argues that scholars and practitioners of mathematics education need to find new directions through recognition of its dystopic characteristics, and embrace these characteristics as both the source of challenges and method of response.

Before the pandemic (2019), we asked: On what themes should research in mathematics education focus in the coming decade? The 229 responses from 44 countries led to eight themes plus considerations about mathematics education research itself. This is a short case study on the use of GPT-3 on short answer essay assessments. It describes the finding of the study and that determines that, yes in fact, Chat GPT-3 can produce quality physics essays in a matter of seconds. This leads to professors having to re-think assessments, which in the end may have far greater benefits than the essay model.
