In August 1983, ACC trustees agreed to purchase 193 acres of land along Riverside Drive and Grove Boulevard for the development of the campus. The Riverside Campus officially opened in 1984, becoming ACC's third campus. Since its establishment, Riverside has evolved from a health science focused campus, now featuring programs such as the Tesla START Manufacturing Program and the Latino/Latin American Studies Center, known as “El Centro”. The campus continues to serve as a key educational hub in Austin, offering a wide range of academic programs and career-technical training opportunities.
