"As with all sophomore level literature classes offered at ACC, this course is a study of literature in the context of historical and cultural perspectives. Specifically, however, it takes as its subject apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic works of American literature and film, ranging from the mid-20th century to the present day. What distinguishes this Honors course from other ENGL 2328 courses (or what makes this class “Honors”)? In a word, depth. In this course, 1) the readings are sometimes a bit longer and more challenging, 2) students conduct more research, and 3) they engage in more active collaboration. Essays/presentations reflect these in-depth explorations. In line with our deep dive into apocalyptic agents, we will also have a guest speaker who is a climate change activist "- Dr. Thomas
