Disinformation: Getting Started

Guide to Disinformation and related Subjects such as Media Bias and Misinformation

What is the Disinformation?

Disinformation is information deliberately intended to misinform, usually to persuade and manipulate.

Misinformation is unintentionally false information.

Media bias is bias propagated through the media, by which the news media is often meant. More generally, other media, such as social media, books, periodicals, and websites, may also propagate bias.

IREX provides a detailed curriculum guide for media literacy training: Learn to Discern: Media Literacy Trainer's Manual

Security.org provides an informative primer on disinformation and misinformation: Misinformation and Disinformation: A Guide for Protecting Yourself
