Preparing for Shortened Academic Terms: College Spotlight - Odessa College
An Overnight Success Several Years in the Making: Odessa College began their journey in fall 2014 by converting 80% of their courses from a 16-week semester to two 8-week terms.

On May 24, 2021, ATD released two new tools for its colleges: a Shortened Academic Terms Guide and an accompanying workbook to support the growing number of institutions across the country shifting from traditional 14- and 15-week semesters to shorter academic terms.

8-Week Course Preference Survey
The Office of Institutional Research & Analytics administered a survey in spring 2022 to students currently enrolled in 8-week sessions to learn about their experiences in and attitudes toward courses offered in an 8-week format.
Accessibility
The Austin Community College (ACC) Teaching and Learning Excellence Division (TLED) works with ACC Student Accessibility Services (SAS) to help all faculty keep updated on processes, resources, and services available to make their courses accessible for all students.
