Thinking about your research

"Until Covid-19 became the media darling (or demon), news of climate change and its effects was omnipresent in American culture. Now that the pandemic has receded, that news is dominant once again. That there is still a controversy about whether or not climate change actually exists or if it has resulted from anthropogenic activity (the Texas Water Development Board says that there is no “scientific consensus”) speaks to both the cynicism of our politicians/corporations and the intense fear that “deniers” have about the catastrophic effects on the environment if our emissions—and environmental destruction—remain unchecked. Arguably, climate change is the apocalypse that has already happened; we just don’t realize it yet." - Dr. Thomas
