Open Educational Resources in Automotive Technology

This web site is the "Field Guide to Automotive Technology" and contains a great deal of information for automotive engineers, or for those teaching and studying in the field. Here, visitors will find all issues of the Automotive Design and Production monthly magazine going back to 1997. The "Industry Focus" section contains articles on electronics, and tools and practices in the automotive supply chain. The "Resources" section supplies information about automotive industry events, a database of links to useful automotive sites, as well as reports and books. The tabs on the top of the page take users to various forums and articles from the site, categorized as "On Cars," "Equip & Apps," "Materials," "Supply Side," and "Digital Domain."
This course is designed to familiarize the student with hybrid and electric vehicle safety, hybrid internal combustion engines (ICE), regenerative braking systems, high voltage climate control system, power inverter and battery pack cooling systems, high voltage analysis tools used, high voltage safety systems, and 12 volt systems used in hybrid and electric vehicles. Hands-on application to safety disconnect, use of high voltage analysis tools to perform basic checks, and perform service and preventive maintenance on hybrid and electric vehicles.
