Assistive technology (AT) is used to improve the functionality of persons with disabilities and may include software programs, equipment, or adaptations to systems. 

• Mobility aids, or ambulatory devices, are a type of assistive technology that specifically assists with movement. 

• When principles of Universal Design are followed, spaces are designed to be accessible and easily navigated by all people with no adaptations.

• Universal Design for Learning (UDL) provides guidelines for creating curriculum, including supplementary materials, assessments, and teaching methods, that provide equal opportunities to learn.
