Where to Start

World History Information Sources

Use the tabs just above to find World History reference sources, books, articles from journals and magazines, and web sites.

World History, like most social sciences, relies heavily on reference sources and books for background and historical information. Books and reference sources tend to be the most useful place to start your research.

Current research appears in periodical articles in scholarly journals and social science magazines and on high quality web sites.  Articles in periodicals are often on very specific topics and are good for the latest research.
