Materials in the library for this subject are shelved according to the Library of Congress Classification system. These are the primary call numbers for world history materials
C = Auxiliary Sciences of History (Archaeology, Heraldry, Western Civilization,etc.)
D = World History (includes individual countries, excluding North and South America)
F = Canada, Mexico, Central and South America (and U.S. state/regional histories)
G = Geography, Atlases, Maps (historical world atlases and related material will be found here)
You can browse the shelves using these or you can look for books and dvd's on the library catalog, using subject keywords. Use the Library Resources Quick Search box to the left to find items using keywords. Some good keywords would include the name of a particular country, a time period in history (e.g. renaissance or medieval), major events (e.g. World War II, or black plague), individual names of people for biographies, etc.
When you have found a library item in the library catalog you would like to borrow
--Click on the title of the item to get to the request option. Scroll down to the location information and call number. See the "request this copy" option to the right.

It usually takes 2-4 business days to have material sent from one campus library to another through campus mail.
Most books and media items are loaned for three weeks. You may renew your material twice if it has not been requested by another borrower.
